I can come with a moible recording rig and track the band live in the rehearsal room, then provide the group with a high quality mix that will get the booking agents attention.

Separating the emotional connection with parts and seeing the song as a whole is the role of a producer, a second set of ears to make the hard decisions.
Plus having a knowledge of how to hire the right studio or session musicians to elevate the listeners experience is key.
